RedactTap does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data.
TL;DR
- No accounts. No tracking. No ads.
- On-device only. Detection and blurring happen locally on your iPhone/iPad.
- Your photos stay yours. We only access images you choose for the sole purpose of redacting them.
- You control sharing. Exports are saved locally or shared only where you send them.
What data we (don’t) collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone, etc.)
- Your images, redaction boxes, or exports
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Precise location data
- Advertising identifiers
We do not run any backend service for RedactTap. There is nothing to “sync” to us.
App permissions
- Photos (Add Only / Read via Picker):
-
Import: When you choose an image in Apple’s system PhotosPicker, iOS grants access only to the items you select.
-
Save: If you choose “Save to Photos,” RedactTap requests add-only permission to write the exported image back to your library.
You can change these permissions anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
How your data is processed
- On device: Text detection and redaction all occur locally using Apple frameworks (e.g., Vision, Core Image).
